Writing courses with Hannah Silva

New courses in Plymouth and Exeter with The Poetry School, Adult Learning and The Arts Unit, Plymouth City Council. Led by Plymouth Art Unit’s ‘Writer in Residence’ Hannah Silva.



The Arts Unit, Plymouth City Council & Plymouth Adult Learning:

Creative Writing, Beginners:

11 weeks, Tuesdays. 7-9, 27/09/11- 13/12/11. Tothill Community Centre. £80/£44 concs.



Novel Writing: An Introduction:

7 weeks. Thursdays, fortnightly. 22/09/11-15/12/11, 7-9. Tothill Community Centre.£64/£58 concs.



Freeing your voice

(one off writing workshop). Saturday 8/10/11 10-13:00. Tothill Community Centre. £15



Writing in the City

: Five facilitated writing sessions held at various locations in Plymouth in response to the artwork exhibited as part of The British Art Show. Highly recommended for those with previous writing experience and initiative who are open to exploring new ways of working with words. Informal telephone interview to check suitability essential. Saturdays through September – November. FREE. (Note: it’s not necessary to attend all sessions). Made possible by the Arts Unit, Plymouth City Council.

The Poetry School, Exeter & Plymouth

New fortnightly poetry courses on Wednesday evenings starting in September with The Poetry School, Exeter and Plymouth.

 

Including 'Language, Voice & Poetic Play' in Plymouth:



This course is ideal for those wanting to reawaken a love of words, to explore the musicality of language and to develop confidence as a writer. Each session includes writing games and exercises to get you going, and discussion and analysis to develop your work beyond that initial spark. You will receive regular feedback and will have the chance to develop the reading/performance skills essential for any poet wanting to reach an audience. Designed to stretch and inspire writers of all levels.
